Hardys Bankside Cabernet Sauvignon 2001

South Australia, AustraliaHardy's Bankside celebrates the original roots of the winery built upon the banks of the Torrens River at least before it burned down in 1853. The cabernet boasts a peppery, cedar bark, cassis jam nose streaked with blackberry vanilla and some licorice notes. It is dry and smooth on the palate with light tannins and a good whack of peppery, cassis, vanilla and tobacco flavours with an undercurrent of cassis, chocolate and earth. The finish is predictably warm and slightly acidic but there's good flavour concentration and relatively good value.Tasted: 29 May 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
