Black Hills Nota Bene 2001
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2001 Nota Bene is a blend of 46 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 35 per cent merlot and 19 per cent cabernet franc. Despite the lower cabernet sauvignon content, the '01 may sport the hardest structure yet. The nose is dry cedar with peppery, sweaty leather overtones and strong herbal green bean, bell pepper nuances. There's plenty of extract and spicy, minty cedar tobacco smoky vanilla flavours but it's still a bit dry and acidic. This will need another year in the bottle to smooth out some of the rough edges. 1800 cases produced.Tasted: 11 May 2004Tasted by: Prices:BC | $28.00 | 750ml | $28.00 was the release price |
