Triacca Sforzato San Domenico 2000
Lombardy, ItalyAt Triacca they take advantage of the Valtellina's warm, windy days and cool nights throughout October by partially cutting the stems that connect the bunches to the stalk and allowing the wines to dry on the vine. Look for a big spicy saddle leather nose with cherry jam, barnyard, tobacco and a bit of volatility. Moderately rich and dry with some round tannins with a typical port-y note in the background. Its earthy, tobacco, cherry jam, soy, flavours finish with fresh acidity. Needs 2-4 years of age but not for everyone. Made in an Amarone like style.Tasted: 17 April 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:AB | $49.00 | 750ml | Fine Wine Boutiques |
