Central Coast, California, United StatesThe inaugural, limited-production release of Talomas Basket Press highlights low-yielding fruit out of Santa Barbara, Paso Robles and Napa Valley. The blend is 87/9/2/2 syrah (Estrella Clone)/ old-vine cabernet sauvignon/grenache and mourvèdre. Look for a huge spicy, turkey sage stuffing and white pepper nose with leather, vanilla and black cherry highlights. It is extremely rich, round and jammy on entry with sweet vanilla, pepper, leather, black cherry, coffee, cardamom and nutmeg flavours. Very fine fruit intensity and a definite alcoholic jolt in the finish.
