Ruffino Tenuta Greppone Mazzi Brunello di Montalcino 1998

Tuscany, ItalyA solid Brunello the Greppone offers spicy, peppery, black cherry and plum aromas and some gamey, sweaty saddle, rootsy, liquorice notes. On the palate it is dry and somewhat warm with tight-ish tannins. Lots of pepper, chocolate, tobacco, leather, and black cherry jam flavours with some herbal/garrigue notes in the finish. Still tight but it should improve over the next 2-4 years. A good '98.Tasted: 30 March 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
