Ruffino Il Leo Chianti DOCG Superiore 2002

Tuscany, ItalyIl Leo, named for the firm's founding members Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino is one hundred per cent sangiovese. Dry peppery, spicy nose with gamey cherry aromas and a touch of earthy/saddle leather. Light, elegant and dry with similar flavours. A bit dry with fresh acidity and light body but a sound, everyday meat and pasta wine.Tasted: 30 March 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
