Quinta Vale D. Maria Douro Vinho Tinto 2001

Rio Torto, Cima Corga, Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalBig spicy vanilla, peppery, black cherry, plum aromas with liquorice, smoky, gamey notes. Rich, round, dry and elegant with light, dry tannins and a touch of austereness. Very peppery, spicy, vanilla, black cherry, liquorice, rootsy, tobacco flavours and sweet vanilla finish. Young and warm so best served now with a pork roast or grilled veal chop or wait 5 years. A blend of new world, Bordeaux and Douro styling. Well done.Tasted: 30 March 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
