Monti Bianco L'Aura 2002

Montforte d'Alba, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyBianco L'Aura is an unusual 70/30 blend of barrel fermented and aged chardonnay with a German clone of Rheinriesling (a.k.a. Riesling Renano) all grown in a single vineyard. Look for a creamy mineral, peach, apple nose with some buttery lees and peach skin notes. Elegant, dry and crisp with more mineral, lime, and buttery peach flavours. It's skinny by North American standards and somewhat alcoholic but the flavours are fine and it should improve with another year or two in bottle.Tasted: 04 March 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
