Joseph Phelps Pastiche Red 2001
California, United StatesThe Phelps version of a Côtes du Rhône blend consists of 33 percent grenache, 30 percent mourvèdre, 19 percent syrah, 6 percent merlot, 5 percent carignane, 4 percent cabernet sauvignon and 3 per cent alicante bouschet. Look for a gamey, saddle leather, cherry nose with some leafy, licorice, caraway streaks. Soft, round and supple but dry with crisp acidity. White pepper, black raspberry, gamey licorice flavours.
