Ca'Marcanda Camarcanda 2000

Bolgheri, Tuscany, ItalyThe terraces of Bolgheri (70 to 200 meters above the coast) provide the soil for the vineyards of Ca'Marcanda's signature wine made from a blend of 50/40/10 merlot/cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc all less than five years old. Spicy, coffee, gamey, black cherry jam and cassis aromas with smoky, pencil lead, vanilla streaks and a hint of curry. Ripe, round and concentrated with soft tannins. A touch alcoholic with tobacco, spicy, minty, cherry jam vanilla flavours and nice fresh cherry, orange, smoky cigar finish. Good finesse and fruit for such young vines. Will improve for 2-6 years.Tasted: 09 March 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
