McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaThe Maglieri family have reappeared on the McLaren Vale scene with new state of the art boutique winery named Serafino Wines and as the owner of McLarens on the Lake complex, a four star accommodation, restaurant and conference centre. Look for a smoky, bacon, leather, floral blackberry jam nose with peppery, spicy, chocolate notes. Rich, ripe, round and fat it has creamy textures and smoky, tarry, peppery, blackberry and chocolate pudding flavours. Lots of smoky oak and vanilla mark the finish with a bit of warmth and acidity.
