D2 Dixième Anniversaire 2001

Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesD2 is a blend of barrels that didn't quite make the cut for the Chaleur Estate label. Look for coffee, vanilla, minty, chocolate notes with saddle leather and some ripe black cherry, blackberry port-y aromas. The palate is tasty and smooth with some alcohol showing through. Very peppery, spicy, vanilla, mocha, black cherry jam flavours with a touch of cedar, green olive and tobacco on the finish. A bit hollow on the mid-palate with more oak than fruit showing but it remains an attractive, early drinking style.Tasted: 23 February 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
