Chaleur Estate Dixième Anniversaire 2001

Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesSweet vanilla, peppery, blackberry jam and licorice nose with a bit of saddle leather and some clove and port like notes. Quite ripe and round on entry with some youthful tannins and some alcohol or "Chaleur" (the French for warmth) showing through. Ripe cassis, blackberry, vanilla, smoky, clove flavours with a big coffee, black cherry finish and fresh acidity. A ripe, hot, oaky style but quite elegant overall.Tasted: 23 February 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
