Napa Valley, California, United StatesYou don't see much Caymus Zinfandel in the US market but it has a big following in Canada. The wine has always showed much more character than its generic California appellation would suggest but then the $47 price tag helps to clue one in. In fact 80 per cent of the fruit come off the Monte Rosso Vineyard in Sonoma's Valley of the Moon where some of the vines are over 100 years old. This is a comfortable old zin with gobs of black fruit and earthy silky coat with lots of spice and vanilla.
