Belle Glos Pinot Noir 2001

Santa Maria Valley, Santa Barbara County, Central Coast, California, United StatesBelle Glos Wagner lends her name to a terrific new Santa Barbara pinot form the folks at Caymus. The nose is instantly attractive mixing dark ripe fruit (strawberry/raspberry) with under blanket of exotic spice and toast. Rich round and silky it's everything you want in pinot; and it's much closer to Burgundy than you might expect. Belle Glos is a long way from the original Caymus pinot noir thankfully long gone from the line-up. Drink now or through 2005.Tasted: 12 February 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
