Napa Valley, California, United StatesAnother pleasant surprise from Sterling. Chocolate, coffee/prune, and pepper along with big cassis, some tobacco and saddle leather mark the nose. It has a rich, sumptuous, round palate with smooth, fine tannin. It is very suave. Peppery, spicy, clove vanilla, chocolate cassis flavours with an olive, orange rind, tobacco and coffee finish. Fine balance. It is drinkable now but could use a year or two to fully round out.
