Feudi di San Gregorio Serpico 2000
Campania, ItalyMade in part from century old pre-phylloxera vines but 100% varietal. Very deep black cherry colour. Smoky, gamey, saddle leather, peppery, black cherry jam nose with some liquorice, plum pudding and vanilla underneath, very ripe. Round, rich and concentrated but a bit alcoholic with big, ripe tannins. Intense black plum, black cherry jam, vanilla, mineral, flavours with a long liquorice, gamey, peppery finish. Super ripe, intense style with some hotness but needs at least 5 years to start rounding out. Very much a Parker appeal here.Tasted: 21 January 2004Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:BC | $99.99 | 750ml | Speculative - Stile Wines |
