Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2000

Siena, Tuscany, ItalyVino Nobile di Montepulciano, the cornerstone of this estate, is all about a single, superior clone of the Sangiovese grape, known as prugnolo gentile. Look for a peppery, spicy, smoky vanilla with gamey cherry jam aromas. Rich, ripe, round structure but somewhat astringent tannins. Very spicy, peppery, cherry plum flavours with vanilla, clove, liquorice in the finish. Bits of acidity showing with dry tannins but should improve over the next 2-3 years.Tasted: 28 January 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
