Chateau Brown Blanc 1999

Pessac-Léognan, Graves, Bordeaux, FranceThis a 12 acre estate planted to 67 percent sauvignon blanc and 33 percent sémillon. It opens with a spicy, fig, grapefruit nose with vanilla, grassy undercurrents. The structure is elegant, the fruit fresh, and the flavours a mix of juicy fig, citrus, toasted lees, spicy vanilla flavours and a grapefruit finish. Good acidity and balance in a slightly lighter style but very good for the vintage, which was better for white than red. Ready now but should improve for 2-3 years.Tasted: 20 January 2004Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
