Batasiolo Roero Arneis 2001

Piedmont, ItalyThe production zone of Roero Arneis, a unique dry, white wine from the province of Cuneo. The 595 owners of vineyards contribute to a annual production of about 1.800.000 bottles (from 337 acres) all made from the arneis grape. Floral, perfumed nose with mineral, nutty lees, citrus rind notes. Round, slightly oily, soft entry with anise, citrus rind, mineral, quince and quite a dry, floral finish. Unique and fairly intense. It reminds us of a cool-climate viognier. Ideal for simply prepared vegetable dishes and or white meats and light fish.Tasted: 15 January 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
