La Sauvageonne 2001

Vin de Pays d'Oc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceA blend of 85/10/5 merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, La Sauvageonne comes off a vineyard with one of the highest altitudes in the Côteaux du Languedoc. Look for ripe cassis jam, spicy, black cherry, minty, tobacco/orange peel notes with streaks of coffee and vanilla. A ripe, round, concentrated wine with firm tannins showing in the finish. Impressive for the region, best in two to four years.Tasted: 30 December 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
