Hazyblur Baroota Shiraz 2001

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaHazyblur "Baroota" Shiraz comes from the relatively new viticultural region north of Clare Valley, the most northerly wine producing area of South Australia. Minty, smoky vanilla, peppery, leather, bacon notes mix with black berry jam and five-spice. Rich, moderately elegant, smooth with a bit of grip on the finish. Big vanilla, smoky, bacon, cherry cola flavours and some peppery licorice notes on the finish. Needs a few years to round out but nice intensity. Only 350 cases were produced -- there are ten in Western Canada.Tasted: 03 December 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
