Domaine Combebelle Syrah Grenache 2001

St Chinian, Coteaux du Languedoc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceDomaine Combebelle boasts three distinct expositions in its bio-dynamic vineyards. Owner Robert Eden and winemaker Benjamin Darnault love to play with small lots and the Combebelle Syrah Grenache represents the best fruit on the estate. Look for a meaty, gamey, smoky, licorice nose with peppery, black cherry highlights. Somewhat dry and chunky but has good intensity with black pepper, licorice, spicy, black cherry flavours and a gamey, black raspberry finish. A bit young and reduced will benefit from decanting or an extra year or two in bottle.Tasted: 30 December 2003Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
