Cockburn's Tawny Porto (20 Years Matured in Wood) NV

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalCockburn's 20 Years Old is blended from older, mature wines aged in cask and then refreshed by the addition of younger wines. The "indicated age" is the average age of the wines in the blend. Look for an open spicy, buttery, spirity, creamy nose streaked with roasted walnut, mineral and peppery tea notes. Rich, round and somewhat fiery but nice acidity with medium sweetness. Intense walnut, pecan, buttery, spicy, tea, rancio flavours. Fine balance and intensity and a bit sweeter than the 10 year old with a super long nutty, cedar, caramel aftertaste. Good value especially if you sip over time by the glass.Tasted: 20 December 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
