Benuara Nero d'Avola - Syrah 2001
Sicily, ItalyBenuara takes its name from the small Mediterranean flower that grows wildly around the town of Pachino. The wine is a 70/30 blend of nero d'Avola and syrah. Look for a peppery, celery salt, savoury, black cherry, licorice nose with a stewed smoky plum fruit nose. Rich, ripe, smooth and intense with good acidity. Big black cherry, licorice, smoked tea, gamey, peppery almond flavours. Well balanced and quite intense, try with slow cooked lamb leg and couscous.Tasted: 12 December 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $26.99 | 750ml | Specialty |
