Unity Wine Chardonnay 2001

Unity Chardonnay is a 50/50 blend of Niagara and Okanagan juice. The Niagara portion was aged 12 months in French oak, the Okanagan portion 13 months in American oak. It was blended at Ontario in April 2003. Very smoky, toasty oak vanilla nose with clove, honey and baked apple and some floral notes. Soft and round, leesy smoky vanilla buttery apple flavours but dry on the finish with slender juicy/leesy, spicy notes. Well balanced if a bit too oaky and pricey. Drink now through 2004 and early 2005. The wine has no VQA designation because there is no provision for inter-provincial wines.Tasted: 18 November 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
