Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz 2001

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaMade from grape vines planted in 1895. Very dark cherry colour. Black cherry jam, pepper, liquorice root, orange peel, and vanilla aromas with strong gamey, resiny, chocolate pudding streaks. Rich round and concentrated with lots of vanilla mocha, cherry, plum jam, smoky liquorice flavours and a meaty orange peel finish. Nice acidity and very soft tannins. Very elegant and balanced considering the prodigious 15% alcohol content.Tasted: 09 November 2003Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
