Henschke Julius Eden Valley Riesling 2002
Eden Valley, South Australia, AustraliaThe Julius Eden Valley Riesling is a mix of fruit from Eden Valley, Springton and Keyneton. Cyril Henschke developed the Henschke reputation for premium riesling wines as early as the 1950s and these dry, food-oriented wines remain clean and crisp with the ability to age. The wine is named after a great-uncle, Julius Henschke, a highly acclaimed artist and sculptor. Look for a ripe peach, floral, apple, mineral slate nose. The textures are round the edges crisp and the flavours a mix of lime rind, green apple, and slate with a peach/ citrus finish. A bit warm but good intensity.Tasted: 28 October 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $68.99 | 750ml | Mark Anthony Wine Stores |
