Prunotto Barbaresco 1999

Piedmont, ItalyPrunotto's Barbaresco comes from vineyards in the areas of Barbaresco, Treiso and Neive. It has a peppery, spicy, mocha, chocolate nose with licorice and plum fruit. High acidity with very elegant but dry, chewy tannins especially on the finish. Lots of peppery, licorice, smoky mocha flavours and some tobacco and plum on a warm (alcoholic) finish. Serve today with a porterhouse steak or give it a good five years in the bottle to settle down.Tasted: 11 September 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
