J. Lohr Syrah South Ridge 2000

Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, Central Coast, California, United StatesThis smells like syrah, with its smoky sausage meaty aromas and blackberry/blueberry fruity notes underneath. It is very soft but dry on entry with a whack of mid-palate acidity that can pucker you up. The fruit is boysenberry and enticing but the finish is too dry and too acidic for the price.Tasted: 28 August 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
