Douro Superior, Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalDark cherry colour. Big black pepper, spicy, blackberry, red plum nose with smoky, resiny notes and a touch of liquorice root. Rich, round palate with ripe tannins. Fine spicy, peppery, plum jam, blackberry flavours and a smoky, fruit jam aftertaste. Very fine intensity. It needs a few years to fully round out the tannins but it's drinkable now. Well done.
