Rio Azul Chardonnay 2001
Valle de Casablanca, Region de Aconcagua, ChileThe partnership is Michel Laroche (Chablis) and Jorge Cordech (Valdivieso). Look for an exciting creamy, vanilla nose streaked with citrus and mineral lees. Quite a tight lemon citrus entry with more butter and creamy lees and a long citrus finish. Tight French styling that revolves on the Casablanca theme that is also almost Russian River-like. Well done and exceptional for such a young venture; if there's work to be done more flavour intensity would be welcomed.Tasted: 17 July 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $25.00 | 750ml | Speculative - Charton-Hobbs |
