Kim Crawford Pinot Gris 2002
Marlborough, South Island, New ZealandBig bright red apple and mineral nose. Very clean and fresh. Almost identical taste. Elegant round and warm in the aftertaste with flecks of citrus butter. Very impressive pinot gris. Well balanced and fun to drink. Perfect for summer. The grapes are harvested from the Boyszone Vineyard that has a small layer of silt over a stony base. It's machine harvested at night, a portion of the grapes get skin contacted, 7 per cent is barrel fermented in older American oak and that portion goes through malolactic fermentation. A small volume of gewürztraminer is added to the wine just before bottling to add fullness and a hint of sugar.Tasted: 04 May 2003Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $23.99 | 750ml | Speculative - That's Life Gourmet |
