L'Ecole No 41 Merlot 2000
Walla Walla Valley, Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesL'Ecole No 41 is perhaps best known for merlot that winemaker owner Marty Clubb makes in a traditional "Bordeaux" style. Small lot fermentations are punched down by hand, tannins are minimized and it is all gently racked into a combination of new and older French and American oak barrels and aged for 18 months. Look for a peppery, earthy, spicy, mocha nose with black cherry aromas. Ripe, round and elegant with juicy, black cherry, spicy, mocha flavours. Quite forward but attractive for earlier term drinking.Tasted: 10 April 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $62.95 | 750ml | Special order - Winspeer |
