Calvet Octerra 2001

Vin de Pays d'Oc, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceOcterra is an 80/20 blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot grown in the Pays d'Oc using sustainable viticulture techniques. It's aged in French oak barrels for 12 months in the Calvet cellars. Look for a touch of vanilla, oak and sweaty saddle on the nose streaked with a spicy cassis. Rich, supple and soft on entry with more smoky flavours and a dry, peppery, cassis finish. Crafted for food and they suggest rabbit with rosemary or roast pork with figs and grapes or braised beef with carrots.Tasted: 13 April 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
