Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay 2001

Napa Valley, California, United StatesThe Cakebread grapes are whole-cluster pressed helping to add to its smooth silky texture and then 60 to 70 percent of the wine is barrel-fermented and up to a quarter goes through malolactic fermentation. Look for citrus, mineral, honey aromas with a touch of spicy lees. The taste profile is similar with honey apple skin and citrus notes throughout. The finish is warm and dry. Solid if unspectacular for the price.Tasted: 13 April 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
