Sonoma Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesA somewhat surprising nose of dill, green olive and coffee streaked with vanilla in the background. Firm and acidic on entry with not a lot of flesh or fruit on the mid-palate. Plenty of mocha and smoke but the finish is dry and short. Not particularly ripe for Sonoma; in fact it smells more like a merlot (29 per cent) than a cabernet (61 per cent).
