Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino Sugarille 1997

Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, ItalySugarille is a single vineyard that is part of the Pieve estate and although the vines are only fifteen years old, the vineyard name appears in the inventory of the estate as early as 1547. The wine is rife with spicy, cigar, black cherry jam, licorice and smoky vanilla aromas with underlying hints of leather and game. Ripe and round with softer, more elegant tannins than the Rennina it is quite spicy with licorice, black cherry, almond, orange rind flavours and a peppery, vanilla finish. A more feminine style with a bit more finesse than many Brunello. Needs four to seven years to fully integrate.Tasted: 02 March 2003Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
