Gaja Barolo Gromis 1998

La Morra, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyProduced from two vineyards owned by Gaja in La Morra: Cerequio and Silio. Very typical leather, tar, violet, spicy pepper nose with lots of prune, smoky, cigar tobacco highlights. Rich, round and moderately tannic but quite ripe. Big coffee, cigar, vanilla, peppery, spicy, prune plum flavours with a slightly tarry finish. A very balanced, elegant, taut style that will attract serious Barolo drinkers to hold for the next ten years.Tasted: 02 March 2003Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
