Gaja Barbaresco 1999

Piedmont, ItalyCoffee, leather, tar, spicy, prune, cherry jam aromas with menthol and licorice, very nice complexity. Rich but elegant with riper tannins but still a bit tight and lean for aging with a touch of ripe acidity. Cherry jam, plum spicy vanilla, tarry licorice flavours with a touch of violet. Very good, needs five to ten years to really shine.Tasted: 02 March 2003Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
