Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceThe straight syrah "varietal" has become popular in UK and US supermarkets where the less they have to learn about French appellation laws the better. I tasted both the 1999 and the 2000 because the vintage is turning over in B.C. so expect to see both wines in liquor stores. The 2000 has a chewy, meaty texture with similar meaty, gamy, peppery syrah flavours.
