Castaño Hecula 2001
Yecla, Valencia and Murcia, SpainThe wine is made from 100 per cent monastrell (mataro or mourvèdre) vines that are 40-years old and dry farmed. There's no fining no filtering. Deep dark colour. Lovely plum jam and earthy notes on the nose and rich peppery savoury fruit flavours in the mouth. Dry smoky garrigue Euro finish that demands food. Anything grilled on the barbeque will work here and the neighbours will love it. Good value.Tasted: 13 March 2003Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $15.95 | 750ml | Specialty |
