Château Gaudrelle 2000

Vouvray, Touraine, Loire, FranceGaudrelle is an ancient vineyard owned by Alexander Monmousseau and located in Vouvray. It was first mentioned in the District Archives of Tours in the 1500s. The vineyards face south and are composed of argilleous (clay) and chalky soil. Here the chenin produces off-dry to sweet wines depending on the vintage. Look for a mineral/slate, dry lees and apple skin nose with just a whiff of toastiness. Round fruity and stylish in the mouth it has a fair amount of ripe apple fruit with a toasted nut finish. Fine quality.Tasted: 02 February 2003Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
