Domaine Chiroulet Les Terres Blanches 2001
Gascony, FranceSituated on the highest slopes in Gascogne, at around 180 metres (600 feet) altitude, the Chiroulet estate faces due south towards the Pyrenees. Les Terres Blanches is a blend of 50 per cent gros manseng, 25 per cent sauvignon blanc and 25 per cent ugni blanc. Look for pleasant aromas of passion fruit, melon and green apple skin. The entry is soft but filled with bright fruit flavours of green melon and kiwi fruit complete with mineral flecks and citrus rind. An interesting flavourful white for the new adventurous wine drinker. Think mussels or scallops for dinner. Good value.
