Blue Mountain Reserve Pinot Noir 2000
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2000 Reserve is slightly darker than the regular '01 pinot noir but the colour is surprisingly light given the power of this wine. Expect a clean nose with plenty of strawberry jam and barnyard tones streaked with spicy smoke and celery. Much better concentration here and it runs throughout the wine. Very Beaune-like pinot noir with an attendant charm even at this young stage. The finish is long and smoky with spicy cherry and creamy vanilla notes. Reserved but stylish.
