Le Cupole di Tenuta di Trinoro 2000

Tuscany, ItalyTenuta di Trinoro sits in viticultural isolation in a valley just west of the Florence-Rome autostrada near Sarteano where Tuscany meets Umbria and Lazio. Excellent dark cherry colour with a spicy, barnyard, earth and toasted vanilla oak nose. Blackberry, cassis and pencil lead scents threaded with green olive and green bean. Dry, rich and round with slightly tight but balanced tannins on the finish. Cassis, pepper, green bean and prune flavours with a touch of acidity and heat in the finish. We like the balance this young red shows. It should be something in another five years for those who can wait. Quite a mix of Tuscany Bordeaux and the New World.Tasted: 14 December 2002Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
