Santa Rita Floresta Petite Syrah Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 1999

Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileAlto Jahuel, Maipo Valley, Chile Floresta, which loosely translates as a 'garden of flowers,' is a new series of blended wines from Santa Rita that's positioned between the high end Medalla Real labels and the super premium Casa Real. This is a massive red from the highly concentrated '99 vintage. The blend is 40/40/20, petite syrah / merlot / cabernet sauvignon. It was blended after the first racking and aged for one year in new French oak. Expect a big, peppery, gamy concentrated red that sears the palate with alcohol. I never thought I would complain about a Chilean red with too much intensity but this might be the one. Tasted: 01 May 2002Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
