Valdivieso Pinot Noir Barrel Selection Reserve 1999
Region del Valle Central, ChileThe wine is aged for six months in old barrels with little or no intervention. Very tasty. Huge ripe black cherry and mint with a smoky, licorice background. Ripe fruit from a fine concentrated vintage. Very rich on the palate with ripe strawberry and cherry jam, some earth and spice too. Very varietal, elegant and supple. Valdivieso seems to have its finger on the pulse of pinot noir in Chile and this is another fine example.
