M. Chapoutier Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Bernardine 1999

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FrancePrune, peppery, barnyard, licorice, sweaty game aromas with cherry jam underneath. Ripe and round with light tannins that add some grip. Gamey, licorice, cherry kirsch, plum flavours with an earthy, sweaty, pepper finish. Very elegant but a bit beefier in style. A mid-term wine for drinking now and over the next five to seven years.Tasted: 01 March 2002Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
