Corbières, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceLa Bastide 1999 Corbières is a classic blend of 70 per cent syrah, 20 per cent grenache and 10 per cent carignan. The colour is almost opaque. The aroma is a mix of barnyard, earth and ripe cherry fruit. The textures are smooth with less rusticity and weight than is the norm. On the palate the wine offers ripe, black cherry fruit, wonderful balance and an attractive, smooth finish.
